Effective November 12 2008, Kay Whatley is full-time here at Above and Beyond Learning!
An expert user of Adobe FrameMaker, she oversees production of Above and Beyond's books, CD inserts, and posters using this tool and related technologies: XML, SVG, and [sometimes] DITA. Kay has worked with these technologies since the mid-1990s, including working with XML for publishing as early as 1998. Kay was instrumental in Adobe's integration of DITA with their FrameMaker product, including producing early FrameMaker DITA templates and arranging the initial sit-down meeting between Adobe's FrameMaker Product Manager and IBM's key DITA manager!
Kay Whatley is an instructor and published author. She is the coauthor of XML Weekend Crash Course (Hungry Minds/Wiley, 2000), lead author of Advanced FrameMaker (TIPS, 2004), and author XML and FrameMaker (Apress, 2004).
